Building Poinsettia Promenade
How grandeur, tradition and elegance come together in a passageway filled with custom lamps and illuminated poinsettias.
One element guests love about Dazzling Nights Orlando is the grand passageways created by our artists. Last year, The Cathedral drew inspiration from the stained glass of Gothic cathedrals. This year, guests will travel through a world of illuminated poinsettias and custom-designed pendant lamps. This is Poinsettia Promenade.
Like every immersive world at Dazzling Nights, it begins with an idea. We are always asking, “How can we make the traditional new?” and “How can we bring the icons of the holidays to life as we immerse guests in the wonder of the season?”
Each year, we also work to bring a high level of elegance to the experience. Poinsettia Promenade is the intersection of all three ideas: grandeur, tradition and elegance.

Making the traditional feel new
The scale and detail of The Cathedral made it a favorite passageway. Poinsettia Promenade continues that sense of grandeur while introducing a completely new visual language rooted in the most recognizable flower of the holidays.
Every part of the new world is designed to feel connected, from the curve of each lamp to the structure overhead and the poinsettias climbing the columns.
From chandeliers to poinsettia lamps
In 2025, guests loved the chandeliers hanging from the trees along Camphor Row. Their hand-crafted crystals created beautiful prisms of light during the day, while hundreds of bulbs illuminated the passageway at night.
We wanted to build on that idea. Our designers began creating custom pendant lamps inspired by poinsettias, combining wispy floral shapes with the scale and elegance of a grand chandelier.

Designed with exquisite natural detail
Our designers created 3D models in several sizes, each with its own delicate floral pattern. The lamps range from six feet in diameter to the grand central fixture, which spans ten feet.
Those dimensions create an impressive effect in the garden. They also create a transportation challenge. Rather than relying on oversized trucks, the team designed every lamp to disassemble and reassemble seamlessly for travel.

Hand-crafted, then made to feel timeless
Once the designs were complete, fabrication began. Each lamp was hand-crafted to create the precise curves, structure and decorative detail imagined by the design team.
Then came the finish. We considered whether the lamps should feel polished and new or carry a more antiqued character. Because they live outdoors within the natural environment of the garden, the aged finish felt like the more authentic choice.

A warm red glow that appears after dark
While the lamp frames were being fabricated, the team was also developing the illuminated and floral elements. Custom lighting components allow each fixture to produce a rich, warm red glow every evening.
During the day, the dark exterior of the lighting elements allows them to visually recede into the decorative structure. At night, the same elements transform the lamps into radiant focal points overhead.
Designed to be part of the art
Even with everything that goes into the lamps, they are only the beginning. It did not feel right to hang these works of art from boxy structural elements. We wanted the structure itself to reflect the elegant curves and shapes of the fixtures.
Our structural designers created a giant custom frame. Each overhead arch mirrors the diameter of the lamp suspended beneath it: smaller lamps on the outside and the feature ten-foot lamp at the center.
The approach was considered just as carefully. The arches create a visual weave that draws from the design of each lamp, making the support structure part of the complete composition.

Bringing the flower into the design in a big way
The upper arches captured the elegance we were striving for, but the vertical columns still felt too structural. So the team kept working, this time bringing the poinsettia motif into the design in a much bigger way.
Our designers created dimensional illuminated motifs that precisely match the height of each vertical support. Rather than repeating one form, every cluster varies in shape and scale to create a more natural, organic rhythm.

A holiday flower that lives here all day long
This grand promenade complements the daytime experience at Leu Gardens. Each year, the garden plants thousands of poinsettias throughout the property.
The living displays and the illuminated promenade connect day and night, inviting guests to experience the beauty of the holidays throughout the day and again during Dazzling Nights.
